Least Authority and Private Internet Access announce PrivateStorage.io:
a secure and privacy-focused cloud storage solution.

PrivateStorage is a joint venture product developed and maintained by Least Authority and Private Internet Access. As firm believers in protection of our customers’ privacy, we joined efforts to offer a private, secure and end-to-end encrypted solution to allow the end user — not third-parties — to determine whether and to what extent the personal data on the storage service is collected, shared, and processed.

Our answer is a privacy-focused online storage solution where you are in control of all your data with client-side encryption and no data or vendor lock-in. PrivateStorage has been designed with privacy and security features to give you the control of who has access to your data. PrivateStorage features include:

Our product uses Free and Open Source software, which provides transparency for independent verification of our security claims and opportunities for community collaboration. The system runs on Tahoe-LAFS, a distributed cloud storage system with a legacy of robust privacy features and ongoing community support. It uses client-side encryption to preserve the confidentiality and integrity of your files, erasure coding techniques to efficiently distribute data across multiple servers, and cryptographic capabilities for access control.

Beta testing of PrivateStorage will be initially offered through the Private Internet Access Beta Testing Program, available only to PIA customers. To be notified of the future public launch of the product, you can sign up to receive an email at PrivateStorage.io.
